Kristin Kohler Burrows has been named the new president and chief executive of Second Time Around, an upscale consignment retailer based in Boston.

Second Time Around features gently used designer duds, accessories, and footwear at 40 locations along the East Coast. The company says it receives products from more than 50,000 consignors, who receive a percentage of each sale.

Burrows is a veteran consumer product strategist with more than 20 years of experience working with retail brands such Keds, Fila, and Converse. She most recently served as president of G.H. Bass & Co., a Minnesota shoemaker.

The company said her top priorities will be to add new stores and expand the retailer's e-commerce presence.

"We are confident that Kristin's experience, leadership, and vision will take our business to the next level," said Gary Furst, chair of the company's board of directors, in a statement. "Second Time Around is a thriving luxury fashion retailer with a foundation in place for long-term growth."

Burrows earned her master of business administration from Harvard Business School, a master of science in marketing communications from Boston University, and an undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Vermont.
